When Émilie Cathelineau became part of CVL as a designer back in 2003 the company did not yet have a design studio. Her mission was to develop the existing classic range which was known for its quality and various finishes. As an expert in lighting, she is the person in charge for the development of the products and goes over changes and novelties with the other designers. At present, Émilie has designed over ten collections. Made up of all sorts and forms of lights, her collections are inspired from other Art Déco styles to contemporary designs.

GAMMA SUSPENSIONS

GAMMA is a striking and versatile lighting system.
The design of this collection is based on the multiplication of metal tubes and opal white luminous cylinders, assembled like a chain.
Inspired by paintings, and straight out of the imaginary graphic language of Sylvain Willenz, NACHO gathers along one single line, various sculptural and lighting elements.

Graduated in 2003 from MA Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London, Sylvain Willenz opened his design office the following year in Brussels. His work was spotted in 2007 in a furniture exhibition in Milan by Established & Sons which launched, shortly after, its range of TORCH lights. Since then, he created and collaborated for publishing houses and light artisans such as CVL Luminaires. At the head of a small team, he designs furniture and lighting, offering a simple, graphic and timeless approach. Fascinated by craftsmanship and industry, he pays great attention to detail and likes to focus on the diversity and quality of materials. In 2009, he received the British Grand Prize for Best Lighting Design with his TORCH Light collection, and was also named Belgian Designer of the Year.
